Today, on November 17, Donetsk hosted a meeting dedicated to an extremely important matter: the arrangement of issuance of documents confirming the status of combat veteran or member of the family of a person killed in the defense of the Republic, the press service of the Administration of the Head reports.
“Social security of the military, members of the People’s Militia, as well as family members of deceased defenders of the DPR depends on how quickly we can organize the issuance of documents confirming the status of combat veteran or member of the family of a person killed in the defense of our state,” Denis Pushilin noted.
The Head of the Republic listened to the chiefs of the People’s Militia Directorate, Ministry of |Internal Affairs, Ministry of State Security and Ministry of Emergency Situations, who must ensure timely processing of citizens’ applications and issuance of documents. The People’s Militia Directorate has the most unresolved problems: even IDs have not been printed yet.
“I instruct you to cope with this task by the end of the week,” Denis Pushilin stressed.
Larisa Tolstykina presented proposals of the Ministry of Labor on a step-by-step implementation of social programs based on budget possibilities. The first stage provides for exemptions for housing and public utilities. The second stage provides for free travel in public transport. The third stage considers the possibility of provision with medications.
The issue of pensions for military was also touched upon. Money for pension payments for this category of persons are provided by the Pension Fund’s budget in full by the end of 2020, the issue depends only on how fast the People’s Militia Directorate processes the documents and their completeness.
“The mechanism of assigning the status of combat veteran must be worked out until it’s completely automatic, and improving social security of the military should become a priority for every ministry, agency and service of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The people thanks to whom the Republic exists should feel the state’s concern,” Denis Pushilin stated.
