The DPR Health Ministry’s Republic Center for Occupational Pathologies and Aftertreatment has formed an intermediate facility to continue treatment and follow-up care of patients who were ill and are recovering now from the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the press service of the DPR Ministry of Health reports.
This facility is designed for patients whose progression of COVID-19 came with complications, therefore, this category needs aftertreatment under the supervision of medical personnel exclusively.
The DPR Health Ministry’s Republic Center for Occupational Pathologies and Aftertreatment has efficient therapeutic facilities based on which it was possible to continue aftertreatment of recovering patients who had a severe COVID-19 case. Since 2015, the Physiotherapy Department of the DPR Health Ministry’s Republic Center for Occupational Pathologies and Aftertreatment has been re-fit with new equipment.
Patients who are transferred for aftertreatment are not contagious, so the staff of the intermediate facility does not require enhanced personal protective gear for the treatment of patients of this category. At the moment, 36 patients are being treated in the department now.
