On Thursday of November 26, the 100th anniversary convoy from the Russian EMERCOM arrived in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the press service of the DPR EMERCOM reports.
The trucks delivered over 60 tons of humanitarian cargo, mainly medications, medical products and equipment. The humanitarian aid will be distributed at meetings of the State Commission for Emergency Situations Prevention and Response and Fire Safety based on submitted applications.
The humanitarian aid was unloaded at humanitarian aid warehouses in Donetsk.
Humanitarian convoys of the Russian EMERCOM with foodstuffs and essential supplies have been regularly coming to the Donetsk People’s Republic since August 2014. During this time, 52,496.20 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered:
— foodstuffs: 24,273.31 tons;
— infant food: 8,458.96 tons;
— medications and medical equipment: 2,410.15 tons;
— building materials and technological equipment: 2 757,62 tons;
— seed material and chemicals:1 457,25 tons;
— other goods (stationery, clothes, footwear, household chemicals, study books, gifts and others): 4 794,77 tons.
This made it possible to improve the life standards of the population and increase the performance of social facilities; promptly restore residential buildings, social and critical infrastructure affected by hostilities; and to supply health care institutions with medications.
The humanitarian aid allowed to ensure the functioning of 27 social canteens, 480 schools, 482 preschool institutions and 205 health care institutions.
Thanks to the aid received from the Russian Federation, 932 critical infrastructure and social facilities have been restored, 1,629,539 food packs distributed among families with children aged 0 to 3 and among families with children over 3 years old who require constant care.
By the beginning of the 2015 academic year, all schoolchildren of the Donetsk People’s Republic were provided with new textbooks published in Russia, first-graders received presents with necessary stationery.
The Russian Federation and the EMERCOM of Russia made a significant contribution to the development and formation of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
