The participation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the Arria-Formula meeting of UN Security Council members was a crucial unprecedented event, thanks to which the voice of Donbass has been heard, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said to the radio station Govorit Moskva.
“The speech of our representatives at yesterday’s meeting became a real mouthpiece of truth, an invaluable opportunity to convey to the whole world the true state of affairs in Donbass and in the Minsk negotiation process. We always tell the truth, we have nothing to hide, so if they invite us to participate in UN meetings, we will accept such an offer,” Denis Pushilin claimed.
According to him, participation in UN Security Council meetings would give the opportunity to resolve the conflict in Donbass peacefully.
“At such a high level it would be more difficult and problematic for Ukraine to delay the talks, and the world community could learn the real state of affairs. We understand that our opponents will do everything possible not to let representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics participate in UN meetings with full rights, because they are afraid and do not want the entire world to hear the truth about the genocide of the Russian people in Donbass, communicate the real situation with the negotiation process in Minsk to the world community,” the Head of the DPR stressed.
Denis Pushilin was not surprised by the reaction of some Western countries that declared a boycott to the meeting.
“The stance that these countries demonstrated cannot be called anything but meaningless. First, it is a direct evidence of the lack of objectivity and understanding of the processes that take place between the People’s Republics and Ukraine. Secondly, they actually admitted their disinterest in a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The meeting was devoted to the implementation of the Minsk Agreements — by its behavior, Ukraine has once again demonstrated the failure and lack of independence to engage in dialogue,” the Head of the DPR concluded.
