The recent statements by head of the Ukrainian delegation Leonid Kravchuk at the Minsk venue again contain theses that contradict not only the Complex of Measures, but also each other, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalya Nikonorova stated.
“Mr. Kravchuk claims that negotiations in the Minsk format can only solve tactical and separate issues, but the global issue of “war” still remains unresolved. We have a counter question to this: when will the Ukrainian authorities realize that the confrontation in Donbass, for whose resolution the Minsk negotiation process exists, did not emerge from nowhere, that it had a good reason?
We have repeatedly voiced it, including during the recent meeting at the UN Security Council, but especially for Leonid Kravchuk we are ready to repeat it again. The main cause of the conflict in Donbass is Kiev’s aggressive reluctance to listen to and take into account the opinion of the residents of Donbass. That is why we went to the rallies and marches in 2014, which is why the referendum was held, which documented the aspiration of Donbass to live independently of Kiev. In the course of all subsequent crimes and inhumane actions of Ukraine, this aspiration has become even stronger.
Thus, when Kiev complains about the ineffectiveness of the peace talks and does nothing to make them effective, we consider such statements to be mere hypocrisy and demagogy. The Ukrainian side, whom we have been persuading for 5 months now to reaffirm at least their commitment to the Minsk Agreements at the level of the highest authorities, is alone responsible for the stagnation of the Minsk process,” Natalya Nikonorova said.
She also reminded that today, December 9, is the very day by which the Ukrainian president promised to reestablish peace in Donbass. However, it did not happen, because Kiev has no real readiness to hear and listen to the residents of Donbass.
