Since the entry into force of the Additional Measures for the Enhancement and Control of the Effective Indefinite Ceasefire Regime, the armed forces of Ukraine violated it 91 times, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Colonel Eduard Basurin reported during the briefing on August 28 in Donetsk.
“Between July 27 and August 28, the enemy committed 20 acts of warmongering by using weapons, thus violating the second clause of the Additional Measures for the Enhancement and Control of the Effective Ceasefire, namely, the ban on the appliance of fire, including sniper. The enemy was firing indirectly, did not pose any threat to our defenders or residents of the Republic.
Units from the 24, 53 separate mechanized brigades, 35, 36 separate marine brigades and 79 separate airborne assault brigade used UAVs 18 times, which is a gross violation of the first clause of the Additional Measures for the Enhancement and Control of the Effective Indefinite Ceasefire Regime that bans the use of any aircraft.
Also, our observers registered 53 cases when units from the 24, 53 separate mechanized brigades, 35 and 36 separate marine brigades, 79 separate airborne assault brigade and 56 separate motorized infantry brigade of the AFU were carrying out engineering work to upgrade their positions, which is also a violation of the Additional Measures, in particular, the ban on attempts to reshape the original position of troops and additional position hardening,” Colonel Basurin stated.
He also noted that such violations by the Ukrainian side were also documented by OSCE SMM monitors in their reports from July 29 to August 28, 2020. In total, they registered that Ukrainian militants had built five firing-points and 26 trenches with a total length of over 3 kilometers.
