On August 31, hundreds of Donetsk residents gathered exactly at 17:30 on Pushkina Boulevard in Donetsk, near the place where the first Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko died. According to a correspondent of the DPR official website, the event was attended by incumbent Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin, relatives and friends of Alexander Zakharchenko, colleagues and residents of the capital.
“Time runs fast, and two years have passed since the monstrous crime of Ukraine, which resulted in the death of Alexander Zakharchenko, an outstanding military and political figure, Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the first Head of the DPR.
Ukraine’s plans to destabilize the situation in our country were not successful. Once again, the people of Donbass united around the ideas and initiatives of Alexander Vladimirovich. We continued what Alexander Vladimirovich was doing. We continued to build our state; we continued to exercise the principles of conscience and justice.
Alexander Vladimirovich was real in everything. He was a real Donetsk person, he was a real politician and military. He probably personified Donbass.
Of course, he will remain in our memory for a very, very long time. He will remain in our memory for our descendants. Setting an example, he led men into battle, he personally encouraged everyone to move on, no matter how hard it was, and no matter how many obstacles there were. It is our duty to pass on the memory of him and all those who died for Donbass to our descendants. Our duty is to bring to a logical conclusion all that we have talked about and remembered since 2014
Eternal memory, Alexander Vladimirovich!” Denis Pushilin said.
Those present honored the memory of the first Head of the DPR with a minute of silence, and laid flowers at the place of his death.
Recall that the first head of our state, Alexander Zakharchenko (1976-2018), was killed two years ago in a terrorist attack organized by Ukrainian security services.
