Today, on December 25, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin handed the keys of seven apartments over to families of IDPs who lost their homes during hostilities, as well as to families of military members and fallen defenders of the Republic. According to a correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Head of State put forward the initiative to transfer housing from the temporary housing reserve to the needy categories of citizens during the call-in show on December 15, 2020.
“Happy housewarming! I am sure that the long-awaited homes, the long-awaited apartments could not have come at a better time. The New Year is coming and, of course, we would very much like to see that as many families who need, who deserve, receive apartments.
Moreover, a number of families are the families of our fallen defenders, for which, of course, I would like to express my gratitude. The entire Republic is in irredeemable debt to them. It is very important for us that the state take care of families of those citizens who have laid down their lives. We must also raise the level of social support, and work in other areas. I am sure that this is the way we will proceed with,” the Head of the Republic said.
According to Denis Pushilin, 41 apartments have already been allocated from the temporary public housing reserve this year, and 18 more are planned to be granted by the end of the year.
“I hope this will continue next year with more serious numbers,” the Head of State added.
The Head of the DPR especially focused on the matters of caring for future generations. “Donbass made its choice in 2014, and the Republic exists thanks to the people who were not afraid to take up arms. Thanks to some kind of inner sensation that our ancestors and we have. We are taking this blow, a tough blow. Donbass is now going through a difficult path of trials. This path, this fate that befell us is not easy. But we must win and make sure that future generations will not see war anymore,” he stressed.
At the end of the event, Denis Pushilin congratulated those present on the upcoming New Year and wished them coziness and warmth in their new apartments.
