Ukraine continues to demonstrate its disinterest in the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass and is trying to derail diplomatic negotiations in every way by falsely accusing our Republic of violating the agreements in effect, an official representative of the DPR People’s Militia said.
Thus, today militants from the 35th marine brigade were carrying out work to refit their firing-points in the Shumy area, which is prohibited by the Clause 1 of the Additional Measures Package.
According to our intelligence, during the demining of terrain to build up new trenches, an unidentified explosive device detonated, as the result of which one Ukrainian militants, who could not be saved in a timely manner by military medics, was wounded and later died.
However, the Ukrainian party to the Contact Group, having decided to use the death of its soldier, who died as the result of the negligence of his commanders, for propaganda purposes, falsely accused our defenders of what had happened without even bothering to specify the nature of the wounds he suffered, which were in fact fragmentation wounds, and accused the DPR People’s Militia of conducting sniper fire and killing the marine.
Subsequently, by “successfully” using those false and unsubstantiated accusations, Ukraine’s representatives to the Contact Group once again avoided discussing security issues during the recent stage of the negotiations in the Minsk format.
It is important to note that even yesterday we warned of provocations being prepared by Ukraine through the staged self-shootings and fake reports by rubber-stamp journalists. But we uncovered those plans in time, which made Ukrainian propagandists try to blame us for today’s non-combat losses among militants of the 35th brigade.
In addition, today the enemy carried out provocations with the use of weaponry in two areas, trying to instigate return fire.
Thus, the enemy fired three 120mm mortar shells on the Sosnovskoye area, and the Yelenovka area was attacked by 82mm mortars and IFV guns. According to our information, there were Ukrainian media representatives who were videotaping what was happening not far from AFU positions in the areas of Taramchuk and Slavnoye during these combat provocations.
We call on the international community and international observers to record the facts of yet another blatant lie of Ukrainian politicians and the military, who are trying to disrupt the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass by any means, and to shift onto us the responsibility for their political spinelessness and inability to fulfil the Minsk Agreements.
