On Thursday, February 4, during the teleconference under the chairmanship of Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, Chief Physician of Donetsk Central City Clinical Hospital 6 Galina Mogilevskaya said that at present it is expedient to return one of the buildings operating in this medical institution as a COVID-19 base to the initial working mode, the press service of the Administration of the Head of the DPR reports.
“I can say that since the tenth of January there has been a clear trend towards a decrease in the number of patients, needs for hospitalization in the hospital base, including oxygen-dependent patients. Today it is possible to work within the premises of one building, returning the surgery and urology departments to normal operation,” Galina Mogilevskaya noted.
The availability of beds in the COVID-19 bases was also confirmed by the chiefs of several medical institutions of the country.
The Head of State noted the importance of considering the return of some hospital bases to their initial working mode. “It is one of the priorities,” Denis Pushilin emphasized.
“We will deal with Hospital 6 in the near future. I think next week we will open the surgical department there. And then Hospital 16,” Alexander Oprishchenko said.
The Head of the DPR also stressed that despite certain trends in the reduction of the incidence, it is too early to say that there is no threat, and the regime of high readiness in the Republic remains in effect.
“The information that came in the course of today’s meeting, and which comes to the Headquarters for the prevention of the importation and spread of the new coronavirus infection, indicates that there are certain trends to reduction in the incidence of the disease. Plus the vaccination.
But it’s too early to say that there is no longer any threat. Alas, the threat still exists, and unfortunately, people continue to die from the aftermath of COVID-19. So we still need to be in a certain mode of high alert.
But based on the trends we’ve seen in the decrease of the disease incidence, we must also be ready to return to the normal rhythm of work in all areas of operating COVID-19 bases,” the Head of the DPR concluded.
