On Tuesday, September 8, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin congratulated all residents and guests of the Republic on Donbass Liberation Day on the central square of the capital.
Tens of thousands of people from towns and districts of the Donetsk People’s Republic came to the festive event. The main present on this remarkable day was a concert by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Grigory Leps.
During his speech, Denis Pushilin stressed that the valor of Soviet soldiers, which they showed 77 years ago, served as a vivid example for today’s defenders of the miners’ land.
“Dear residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic! Citizens of Great Russia! Dear veterans! I congratulate you on Donbass Liberation Day, the day of pride and gratitude for the heroic feat of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War!
All residents of Donbass have a great holiday today. 77 years ago, the Red Army defeated the Nazis and drove them out of the Donetsk land. The feat of the heroic liberators is forever inscribed in our history. The valor of Soviet soldiers became a vivid example for today’s defenders of Donbass,” the Head of the DPR said, emphasizing that the grief that Donbass experienced is on the conscience of bandits from Kiev’s punitive battalions.
“Today, under Ukrainian banners, followers of the Nazis defeated during the Great Patriotic War are trying to desecrate our land. They brought a lot of grief to Donbass. Thousands of dead, tens of thousands of destroyed houses, maimed fates of people, killed and wounded children — all this is on the conscience of bandits from the punitive battalions.
We all stood up as one to defend our Homeland: miners and steelmakers, teachers and doctors, students and workers, ordinary people whose freedom was endangered, whom they wanted to deprive of the right to speak native Russian, remember and honor our history, the feats of our grandfathers and great grandfathers,” Denis Pushilin said and added that it is impossible to break the residents of Donbass.
“We, like our ancestors, withstood! Courage and self-sacrifice of defenders of Donetsk, Snezhnoye, Shakhtyorsk, Ilovaysk and Debaltsevo will be forever inscribed in the heroic chronicle of Donbass! We will not be broken! Happy holiday, friends! Victory will be ours!” the Head of State summed up.
Then Grigory Leps supported the inhabitants of the Republic and performed songs, he congratulated everyone on Donbass Liberation Day at the beginning of the concert. Note that the concert was organized under the auspices of the Russian Center.
