Ukraine refused to resort to the coordination mechanism for responding to violations agreed on July 22 as part of the measures to enhance the ceasefire. All the additional measures are thereby undermined by the Ukrainian party, the DPR Foreign Ministry reports.
“We have always openly proceeded from the fact that interaction within the coordination mechanism must be carried out by all available means, including joint consideration of violations and coordinated inspections.
Today [on September 16], Ukraine has disavowed this agreement, thereby disrupting the entire package of additional measures and turning the agreed measures themselves into a purely declarative document without any mechanism for monitoring their implementation.
We have submitted a proposal to reconcile measures to reinforce the ceasefire. We deplore the position of the Ukrainian party, due to which the entire package of measures will have to be renegotiated,” the statement says.
