During his briefing on October 15, Acting Minister of Health of the DPR Alexander Oprischenko answered whether the Republic has a sufficient number of tests for the coronavirus infection , a correspondent of the DPR official website reports.
According to him, there are two state laboratories working in the DPR that conduct PCR testing: the laboratory at the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service can do 280 tests per day and the laboratory at the Donetsk Regional In-Patient Medical Association can do 30 to 40 tests per day.
“We have to perform 700-800 tests per day. Technically, we cannot provide PCR-tests to all those interested. Therefore, preference is given to patients at hospital facilities.
The BioLine and Paster laboratories can perform IFA testing for COVID-19. But this is quite expensive and not everyone can afford such a test.
In this regard, for the funds allocated, Lekarstva Donbassa SE will purchase a large number of IFA-systems to do the testing. Once these systems are received, we will be able to test anyone at the expense of the state,” Alexander Oprischenko said.
