On October 20, the Head of the DPR held a meeting via videoconferencing with health workers of the Republic.
Denis Pushilin noted that it is important to him to hear not only the opinion of the management of the healthcare system, but also that of chief physicians of DPR hospitals.
“37 hospitals have already been involved in COVID-19 treatment. How are medical workers coping with the growing number of infected people, how many more hospitals will be able to receive patients, what about the supply of medications and personal protective gear? I have heard opinions on these and other questions, as it were, firsthand.
Yes, there are problems, but most hospitals are coping with the increased workload, for which we express our great gratitude to our doctors.
In addition to the list of what is needed first of all, I heard suggestions, for example, to create a separate facility for recovering patients, the so-called “pink zone”, so that you can free space for new patients more quickly. This and other acceptable solutions have been taken for consideration — I have instructed Alexander Oprishchenko — they will be implemented as a matter of urgency.
In the meantime, the request to our citizens is the same: personal safety measures are above all! Let us not overburden our doctors! Take care of yourself, stay healthy!” the Head of the Republic emphasized.
