Since his appointment as the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Contact Group talks in Minsk, Leonid Kravchuk has made many controversial statements that have nothing to do with the items of the Complex of Measures, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin told a correspondent of the Federal News Agency about it.
According to the Head of the DPR, the replacement of the Ukrainian envoy to the Contact Group does not mean that Kiev will change its attitude to the Minsk process.
“It is not about the personalities of the negotiators, it is about the political will of Ukraine to implement the Complex of Measures. They do not have it, so far we do not see any signs of its reappearance. On the contrary, even the hard-won agreements on the additional measures for the control of the effective ceasefire are not implemented through the fault of Ukraine,” Denis Pushilin explained.
The Head of the DPR reminded that the coordination mechanism for the ceasefire control by the agency of the JCCC is still not working, because Ukrainian representatives do not take phone calls. That was agreed during the meeting of the Contact Group on July 28, according to Denis Pushilin, it became some progress in establishing a full-fledged ceasefire regime, but not for long, unfortunately.
“Leonid Kravchuk has made many controversial statements since his appointment, they have nothing to do with the items of the Minsk Agreements. “A special regime of governance” and “free economic zone” he proposes for Donbass are not bringing the implementation of the agreements closer, but moving away. The “compromise” he proposes is yet another attempt to mislead the Minsk process. Alas, this is the usual behavior of Ukrainian politicians, we have known it,” Denis Pushilin concluded.
