By the medium of the coordination mechanism, we timely notify Ukraine of all violations and engineering works. However, the failure of the command staff of the armed forces of Ukraine to take action on time and punish those responsible as provided for by the agreements creates preconditions for escalation of the situation, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Colonel Eduard Basurin said during the briefing on August 14.
“We hope that the Ukrainian command will be able to settle the situation with the ceasefire violators on its own in the shortest possible time, so DPR People’s Militia units will not have to resort to emergency measures as envisioned by the agreements.
Our intelligence confirms that AFU units deploy weapons and military equipment near residential houses and municipal facilities in the Ukraine-controlled territory. This violates the approved measures and endangers the lives and health of civilians. These facts are also confirmed by the OSCE SMM report of August 13.
For the past 24 hours, armaments were spotted near Zaytsevo, Krasny Pakhar, Nevelskoye and Krasnogorovka.
We also registered a new trench system (about 150 meters long).in the zone of responsibility of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade.
In addition, units of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade were actively carrying out engineering works in the area of Bogdanovka. A new trench with a length of about 45 meters was spotted, as well as a camouflage net.
We call on Ukrainian soldiers not to participate in the schemes of their commanders in order to save their lives.
We call on international monitors to compel the AFU command to observe the agreements reached and not to take advantage of the ceasefire regime for their self-serving purposes,” Eduard Basurin said.
