The Ukrainian side continues to search an alternative to the Minsk Agreements — Leonid Kravchuk suggested a new “action plan”. Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR and Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova commented on the statements in the Ukrainian media.
“The Ukrainian media cannot stop heaping praises on how good the “action plan” that Leonid Kravchuk allegedly proposed is and how undeniably it allegedly corresponds to the Minsk Agreements.
We have three remarks on this matter.
First, it is unclear why they attribute the idea of “action plan” to Kravchuk. Nobody bothered to check this — they will repeat after Kravchuk a hundred times that it was his initiative, and maybe magic will happen. But the reality is as follow: Ukraine sent a draft Action Plan in November in response to the Roadmap that the republics proposed back in early October. We had been demanding such a counter draft from Ukraine for more than a month.
Secondly, if the Ukrainian “action plan” complied with the Minsk Agreements and was able to resolve the conflict politically, the DPR delegation in Minsk would be a water polo team, which, by the way, at least visually could increase our resemblance with “militants”, as Leonid Kravchuk calls us.
Thirdly, in order to dispel all illusions in the Ukrainian media regarding Kiev’s “adherence” to the Minsk Agreements and the “compliance” of this response document with them, we will have to make public the Ukrainian “action plan” with our article-by-article comments to it, which we sent to the Contact Group last Wednesday,” Nikonorova said.
