Today, on August 25, the House of Culture named after V.V. Kuibyshev hosted a festive meeting dedicated to the upcoming holiday — City Day of Donetsk. According to a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin attended the event.
“Dear countrymen, this is a good tradition on the eve of City Day of Donetsk to bring together people who have made a significant contribution to the prosperity of the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic. We always celebrate Donetsk City Day massively and impressively. After all, this holiday is common for all of us, it unites all those who truly love their home, cherish its appearance and traditions.
Donetsk has always been a heroic city for all of us. This is the city of great people who glorified our country, the center of industrial development in Donbass, the city of a million roses.
Over its long history, the city has faced many challenges, but the people of Donetsk have always coped with them. Here live true patriots of their land, workers who are experiencing all the hardships of war with dignity and courage, with honor fighting for the preservation of history, culture and traditions. Each resident of Donetsk by his daily selfless work, actions, attitude to the beloved city determines what the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic will become in the future, and what our descendants will get. I am sure that together we will make Donetsk even more beautiful.

For their selfless and valiant work and in connection with the celebration of City Day of Donetsk, the Head of State presented awards and bestowed the deserved titles upon Donetsk citizens: a Medal For Labor Valor, honorary title “Honored Doctor of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, as well as Certificates of Appreciation of the Head of the DPR.
