Metropolitan of Gorlovka and Slavyansk Mitrofan together with the clergy of the town conducted a mass for the dead. Then the Head of State addressed the audience.
“Dear citizens of Gorlovka, dear friends! July 27 is another tragic date in our Republic, a tragic date in Gorlovka. It was then that the town center was shelled, 22 people were killed, four of them children.
Terrible and hot was the summer of 2014, when the entire Republic, including Gorlovka, experienced all the hatred embodied in the shells flying over our land, over our homes. No one could have imagined that this was possible in today’s modern world. War crimes of Ukraine have not ended yet,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the Republic thanked the residents of Gorlovka for defending the town and working for the future.
“Thanks to the residents of Gorlovka, their town withstood. They continue restoring and working for the future. The war will end. Our children, our descendants need to live in the town that we will be able to build together in the Republic that we can make right from our point of view,” the Head of State emphasized.
Denis Pushilin stressed that the main task is to punish Ukrainian war criminals.
“Our task is to do everything possible so that the perpetrators of these monstrous war crimes against humanity are punished. This is our task, for the sake those people who are no longer with us and will never be. Eternal memory to the dead!” Denis Pushilin said.
Those present at the rally observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the victims and laid flowers at the memorial sign “Broken Heart”.
