Ukraine’s armed formations (AFU) continue to blatantly violate all the effective agreements by further committing reckless provocations on the line of contact, official representative of the Donetsk People»s Republic to the contact group for security issues Aleksey Nikonorov stated on 27 October.
«Another terrorist act has been committed this morning. The AFU used a UAV in another attempt to bomb an oil depot in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk. An unmanned aerial vehicle with an attached explosive device fell on one of the oil depot’s tanks, but did not detonate on the spot.
After the UAV had been detected, OSCE SMM officers were promptly informed of the incident so that they could register the terrorist act by the AFU.
However, an explosion occurred during an attempt to defuse the IED as the detonator had been programmed to explode at a specific time. Fortunately, there were avoided casualties and the large-scale aftermath that had been the goal pursued by the AFU through this act of aggression.
We regard Ukraine’s actions as a deliberate terrorist campaign targeting civilian infrastructure and civilians of the Republic. We urge the OSCE SMM to document the use of the strike UAV and promptly report on it,» Nikonorov stressed.
As previously reported, two explosions occurred in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk on Neftyanaya Street on 11 September. In the course of operational activities, it has been established that these sabotage actions had resulted from an attack with two UAVs, as evidenced by the fragments of unmanned devices found at the site of the explosions: the engine, burned fuselage parts, and wings.
