On Tuesday, September 1, all general education establishments of the Republic had ceremonial events devoted to the beginning of the new academic year. On this day, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin visited celebratory assemblies in Lyceum 1 in Makeyevka and Specialized School 11 With In-Depth Study of English in the city of Donetsk and congratulated students, teachers and parents on the First Bell holiday, the press service of the Administration of the Head of the DPR reports.
The ceremonial event in the Makeyevka lyceum began with a musical performance by students from 1st and 11th grades. Then the Head of State greeted the audience.
“Dear lyceum students, dear teachers and parents! This year we were looking forward to September 1st more eagerly because distance learning confused many. Both students and teachers, and, of course, parents. It is good that we have had a proper Knowledge Day-September 1st and have had the opportunity to change over to the internal study mode. As never before, there have been a lot of requests from children to switch to fully-featured education.
I would like to wish first-graders a good start of their school career. Graduating students should make the most of this year. It will not happen again in your life. Appreciate these moments, remember all the highlights, respect the teachers, because they share a bit of their soul with you. This will remain with you for life. I wish parents patience and may they have an opportunity to be proud of their children. Happy Knowledge Day!” Denis Pushilin said.
Mayor of Makeyevka Sergey Goloshchapov and director of the lyceum Natalia Chernoivan also said warm words of congratulations on the beginning of the school year.
The celebratory assembly in School 11 of the city of Donetsk was marked by the summing-up of academic year 2019/20 and awarding of the students who finished the academic year with A grades, took prize-winning places at international, Republic and municipal contests and competitions, took active part in school life. They were awarded scholarships by the School Board of Regents
The head of the state congratulated the audience on the full-fledged start of the school year.
“Dear teachers, parents and students! We finally have had an assembly, bows and wonderful first-graders! Years will pass and they will take an honorable place of school leavers!
I would like to wish teachers strength and patience. We love and appreciate you very much for what you are doing — in fact, you are building the future of our Republic. What our country will be like depends on how you educate our children and what foundation you lay,” Denis Pushilin stated.
Then school principal Tatyana Abdikeyeva joined in the congratulations. “The school bell calls all children for new achievements!” she noted in her speech.
At the end of the holiday, the First Bell rang traditionally for all students of the educational establishments.
Let us add that about 15 thousand first-graders went to Republic schools in new academic year 2020/21.
