During the opening of educational consulting centers—branches of the Donetsk National University in Debaltsevo—Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin answered questions from students and residents, concerning various aspects of life in this frontline town, a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic reported on September 3.
In particular, residents were particularly concerned about the issue of transport services, which are carried out by private carriers, and not always convenient for citizens. To solve this problem, Mayor of Debaltsevo Igor Zakharevich suggested buying several minibuses and using them on the basis of the local utility company.
“This problem is faced by many towns and districts that come up against the monopoly of private carriers. Not always everything has to be evaluated based on profit, so we will think how to help,” Denis Pushilin said.
Citizens were also very interested in the issue of opening the border with the neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic.
“I think that we will be able to open the border in the very near future. Of course, the issue is still being worked out with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but it is already in the final stage of consideration,” the Head of State assured.
The question about the pension increases and payrises has already been traditionally raised.
“I want to ensure that everyone’s wages are raised constantly. What can I say? It is planned to carry out three payrises in the process of reaching the level of the neighboring Rostov region. The nearest one will happen in January 2021, then in July 2021 and then in January 2022. This is our task,” Denis Pushilin said.
In addition, during the communication with the residents of the town, the Head of the Republic gave a number of instructions concerning the opening of the town sports complex Lokomotiv, resumption of interurban bus transportation and others.
