Despite the fact that all the members of the Contact Group have agreed and signed in Minsk the additional measures for the control over the effective ceasefire regime, which are crucial for the settlement of the conflict in Donbass, the Ukrainian side is not implementing the reached agreements in the way and format they stipulate, DPR Plenipotentiary and Foreign Minister Natalya Nikonorova stated on August 6.
“Kiev is implementing very selectively these measures, which took five whole months to be agreed upon and a great deal of effort mainly on the part of the Republics and the mediator to the negotiation process represented by the Russian Federation. This is clearly confirmed by the fact that the representatives of Ukraine published an incomplete and distorted list of the agreed measures on the website of the Ministry of Defense, either intentionally or due to their incompetence.
Moreover, Kiev’s rather careless attitude toward the agreement on the establishment of a coordination mechanism of response to ceasefire violations through the offices of the JCCC in its current composition is bewildering,” Nikonorova said.
She also noted Ukraine’s disregard of messages and phone calls, despite the reached agreement on direct communication between the parties to the conflict. She calls on the Ukrainian negotiators to engage in a constructive dialogue and fulfill their obligations.
“We call on the Ukrainian authorities and, in particular, on the new representatives of Ukraine in Minsk to quit false flag operations and sabotage but devote more time not to the statements on the media, but to substantive, honest and coordinated work with representatives of the republics on the implementation of all obligations without exception within the framework of the Minsk process,” the DPR Plenipotentiary stressed.
