The Republic is about to receive supplies of Sputnik V, the Russian anti-coronavirus vaccine, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin claimed today, on December 14, during an interview with the Russian TV channel Russia 24.
“We rely only on Sputnik V, our Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation are working through the issue. We are waiting,” he said.
When asked which categories will be vaccinated first, Denis Pushilin said that these would be medical workers, teachers and social workers.
“We are waiting for the vaccine, we are planning to start the vaccination campaign. The categories of citizens who will be vaccinated in the first wave have already been determined. These are medical workers, teachers and social workers,” the Head of the DPR commented.
In addition, Denis Pushilin told about the situation with COVID-19 in the territory of the Republic in general.
“The situation today is complicated, as it is all over the world. But it is quite controllable here, which allowed us to reduce the number of hospital bases in the last month, taking into account the registered figures. We had 39 in the territory of the Republic and today we have 28. There are still plans to reduce the number as the situation develops.
Given that the figures are giving some hope, we will not introduce a strict isolation regime for the New Year holidays,” Denis Pushilin said.
