Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Supreme Commander Denis Pushilin arrived at a military training ground located in the frontline city of Gorlovka and inspected combat training exercises of the DPR People’s Militia units on Monday, March 15, the press office of the DPR Head’s Administration reports.
Prior to the training, Commander of the 3rd Gorlovka individual unit of the DPR People’s Militia Colonel Vadim Komissarov showed the Head of the Republic the map of the training ground with a plan of combat training tasks to be performed by the units. Denis Pushilin listened attentively to the commander’s report, raised issues of concern and made his observations, after which he wished everyone luck and gave the order to start fulfilling the tasks set.
In the course of the training, tank crews completed exercises in driving and firing proficiency, and motorized rifle units were trained in tactics. The Head of the Republic was watching the units’ activities from the command control tower.
At the conclusion of the range practice and tactical maneuvers, Denis Pushilin noted the high-level professional training of personnel and commanders, as well as the determination of the DPR People’s Militia to perform tasks as intended.
The Head of State outlined that trainings of the kind are carried out on a permanent basis and are aimed at improving combat readiness of the Republic defenders.
“At a time of aggravation, when Kiev is contributing to certain elements of escalation, we need to regularly check the combat readiness of our units.
Today I have inspected the progress in the training of tank crews and tactical training of motorized rifle units. It is important to see the determination of the military, their moral and willpower. I believe, everything seems to be going well. The army is combat-ready and prepared for any and every eventuality,” Denis Pushilin emphasized.
In addition, the Head of State personally drove a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle over the artificially erected barriers on the training ground to verify their complexity level.
After the training was over, the Head of the Republic presented to the People’s Militia the first batch of UAZ Patriot Pickup all-terrain vehicles, which will improve the mobility and combat capabilities of the units.
“At the moment, the physical infrastructure of the units is being modernized on an ongoing basis, the People’s Militia is receiving new equipment. The state is aware of the need to improve the technical facilities of the army, but it is equally important to take care of the social safeguards for the military. In this regard, the relevant committee of the People’s Council is considering amendments to the regulation in the sphere of social security for military personnel,” Denis Pushilin said.
At that, the Head of the DPR talked to the military in an informal setting at the training ground and answered their questions.
