Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin participated in the celebrations marking the 7th anniversary of the 2014 All-Crimean Referendum and the Day of Crimea’s Reunification with Russia. The celebrations were held in Simferopol on Tuesday, March 16, the press office of the DPR Head’s Administration reports.
The Council of Ministers hosted a ceremony of awarding state awards of the Republic of Crimea and the Donetsk People’s Republic to members of the Krym (Crimea) Volunteer Unit and the interregional public organization Donbass Volunteer Union.
Distinguished awards were presented by Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, and Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov. The award ceremony was also attended by Hero of the Russian Federation and Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Crimea Oleg Belaventsev, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation representing the Executive of the Republic of Crimea Olga Kovitidi, and deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Kozenko.
Addressing the participants in the event, the Head of the Republic of Crimea stressed that the Day of the Crimean Referendum on March 16 is a milestone day for the Crimeans, and the direct participants in those developments have gathered in the hall this day.
“I would like to thank the Crimean militia, the Donbass militia, who are standing up at the forefront for the Russian World today! I would like to say thank you to our friends, to Denis Vladimirovich Pushilin, who is in such a difficult situation today, but, nevertheless, is taking the blow with courage,» Sergey Aksyonov said.
In his turn, Vladimir Konstantinov called the Crimean Spring an event of international scope that had changed the world order.
“The Crimean Spring showed the whole world that we can act contrary to the will of the Western organizers of all coups,” he stressed, expressing solidarity with the residents of Donbass and confidence that the years-long struggle to return to their Homeland will end successfully.
Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin congratulated the audience on the 7th anniversary of the All-Crimean Referendum and the Russian Spring and stressed that those present in the hall had stood up to defend their Homeland, giving no thought to danger.
“This is what lies in the nature of a truly Russian person. We care about the Russian culture, the Russian language, our heritage from our grandfathers and fathers that must pass on. I can say with confidence that you are a credit to the Russian people,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the DPR noted that a high price had had to be paid for the freedom of Crimea and for the Donbass republics to be established.
“But the duty to the Homeland and the people is above all,” Denis Pushilin said.
On this day, there were awarded 23 state awards of the Donetsk People’s Republic – Medals For Courage, as well as 23 state awards of the Republic of Crimea – Medals For the Defense of the Republic of Crimea, the Order For Loyalty to Duty, and signs of distinction – memorial Watches from the Head of the Republic of Crimea.
To mark the 7th anniversary of the 2014 Crimean Referendum and the Reunification of Crimea with Russia, Denis Pushilin laid flowers at the monuments to the People’s Militia of All Times and the «Polite People.» In addition, the Head of the DPR visited the photo exhibitions dedicated to the Crimean Spring, which were organized as part of the celebrations.
