For the past 24 hours, the enemy violated the ceasefire control measures three times, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Colonel Eduard Basurin reported during the briefing in Donetsk on August 21.
“Militants from the 54th separate mechanized brigade and 503rd battalion of the 35th separate marine brigade twice used trench charges to build up fortifications on the front line in the areas of Verkhnetoretskoye and Dzerzhinsk.
In addition, in the area of Vodyanoye, we registered a Mavic PRO quadrotor, with the help of which militants from the airborne assault battalion of the 36th separate marine brigade made an attempt to recon our positions.
With these actions, the enemy openly violates the first and second clauses of the complex of additional measures for the enhancement and control of the ceasefire regime. We note that the Ukrainian party is timely informed by us through the coordination mechanism about all violations and engineering works. However, the failure of the AFU command to take timely action and punish those responsible, as prescribed in the agreements, creates conditions for further escalation of the conflict,” Basurin said.
He also noted that since the ceasefire was declared at 00:01 on July 27, the enemy has violated the ceasefire three times.
“This week, radically-minded militants from the 35th, 24th and 36th brigades armed with rocket-propelled grenade launchers and small arms three times engaged Dolomitnoye, Kominternovo and the village of Gagarin Mine, having fired indirectly two grenade launcher rounds and about a dozen assault rifle shots,” the spokesman for the DPR PMD added.
