The enemy continued to violate the first clause of the additional measures for the enhancement and control of the effective truce, namely, the ban on offensive and intelligence-sabotage actions, which, according to the agreements, are referred to as attempts to redeploy the original positioning of troops and additional hardening of positions, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Eduard Basurin reported on August 21 during the briefing in Donetsk.
“This week, our lookouts registered 14 cases when militants from the 24, 54, 53, 35 and 36 brigades were carrying out engineering works to build up new positions with the use of explosives in the areas of Bogdanovka, Travnevoye, Shumy, Zaytsevo, Talakovka, Novgorodskoye, Leninskoye, Verkhnetoretskoye and Dzerzhinsk.
It is noteworthy that the violations of the first clause of the additional measures for the enhancement and control of the effective ceasefire by the Ukrainian side are also registered by OSCE SMM monitors, who noted in their report of August 20 that militants from the 53rd mechanized brigade arranged new 54-meter positions in the area of Bogdanovka,” Basurin said.
