Today, on November 25, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin attached an Order of the Republic, one of the highest state awards of the country, to the Colours of the Kramatorsk Independent Commandant Regiment. The Head of State also awarded well-earned decorations to distinguished military members.
“Six years have passed since the personnel of the Kramatorsk Commandant Regiment took the oath of allegiance to the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic. During this time, separate units and members of the People’s Militia, who proved their heroism and courage in the defense of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, in the battles for Gorlovka and Shakhtyorsk, became a strong military brotherhood. They went through all the hot spots of the Republic: fought for Donetsk Airport, liberated Uglegorsk and Debaltsevo. Personal courage of many of them is an example for today’s recruits.
Fighters of the Commandant Regiment honorably perform all tasks, including the most risky, to protect the Republic from sabotage and terrorist threats.
The regiment’s colors already had a Medal For the Defense of Shakhtyorsk. Today, I proudly awarded an Order of the Republic to the unit and state decorations to its distinguished soldiers.
