On August 28, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin at the meeting dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the formation of the 100th DPR People’s Militia detachment called Kupol, congratulated the unit on the anniversary and the conferment of the honorary title “Guards”. The event was held in a festive setting in the V.V. Kuibyshev Palace of Culture, the press service of the Administration of the Head of the DPR reports.
“Comrades soldiers, I congratulate you on the fifth anniversary of the Kupol 100th DPR People’s Militia Detachment! Thank you for your determination to act in any situation. This is the destiny of the bravest and most courageous elite units!” the Head of State addressed the audience.
Denis Pushilin noted that the personnel of the unit includes People’s Militia military who won fame in the battles in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, near Saur-Mogila, Snezhnoye and Torez, in Ilovaysk, Gorlovka and Yenakiyevo, Yasinovataya and Donetsk.
According to the decree of the Head of the DPR, the military unit 08826 was given the title “Guards” for its shared heroism and bravery, fortitude and courage shown by its personnel in the combat operations for the defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
In addition, the unit’s military were awarded state decorations: Orders of the Republic, Badges For the Merits to the Republic and St. George’s Cross of 4th class.
