October 16 is a tragic date in the history of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The legendary commander of the Sparta Battalion, Colonel of the DPR Armed Forces, Hero of the Republic Arsen Pavlov (Motorola) was killed on this day four years ago.
I will always remember Motorola as a true patriot and brave warrior. He selflessly defended the interests of the people of the Republic and the Russian world at the front line. Under his leadership, Sparta fighters participated in crucial combat operations, including the fierce battles for Ilovaysk, Donetsk Airport and Debaltsevo.
His nom-de-guerre was a symbol of the strength and resilience of Donbass. The residents of the Republic knew that if Motorola went to a hot spot, the enemy would definitely be defeated. To break the morale and faith of the Donbass people in victory, Ukrainian propagandists repeatedly disseminated false reports about Arsen Pavlov’s death in battle. But he always came back alive…
He continues to live today, because the heroes do not die! The memory of his exploits will forever remain in the hearts and souls of millions of people.
May Arsen Pavlov’s relatives and friends accept my sincere condolences and words of support. I remember and mourn with you.
Yours faithfully,
DPR Commissioner for Human Rights
Darya Morozova
